Rolex All American Honour for Australian Karl Vilips

Fantastic news out of the USA last week for Australian golfing enthusiasts, as 15 year old Karl Vilips received the distinguished honour of Rolex Junior All American Golfer.

The following is part of the letter to Karl from the AJGA:

"You are going to be recognized as a Rolex Junior All-American for the 2016 season!  Your dedication and outstanding play has distinguished you as one of the top junior golfers in the world."

Like me, you would not have heard about this prestigious award for Karl, from Golf Australia. What a disgrace, that the governing Amateur body in Australia has not recognised this outstanding achievement of one of its own. However, it's not surprising for me, when Director of High Performance program of GA, Brad James, fails to recognise this young mans achievments, offer any funding for his development, or include him in our High Performance Squads. How can you be taken seriously Brad James?

Surely it's time Golf Australia recognised Karls achievments. As an Australian I am proud of this young man's achievements. Surely our National Body, who is funded by taxpayers money and our golf fees, and who we entrust the future of Australian golf, should recognise the Number 1 golfer for his age, in America. World Rankings show Karl to be the best player for his age in Australia. Come on Brad James, what about some funding? I want to see Karl playing for Australia and in Australia as a professional. If Golf Australia continues to ignore him, we may lose him to America forever.
